Classic decorative Tallis/Rapkin map published in Tallis's The Illustrated Atlas ..., about 1853. Steel engraved map with original outline hand colour, the more desirable version without a centrefold. The decorative vignettes include The Bride Chase on horseback, The Tent and Tartars on a Journey. Close trimmed to upper and lower margins, upper right corner cut and very slight soiling. Size 33 x 26 cms including decorative border, plus margins. Ref H9076

Pair of chromo-lithographic maps on two large sheets, each with a centrefold as published, the northern map having an inset map of Burma, the southern map a small inset showing the position of India. Good condition, with good margins. Sheet size 60 x 45 cms each. Ref H9068 (NOTE - these just fitted my scanner, so the good margins are not shown.)
